Jessica Pegula Advances to China Open Semifinals

American tennis player Jessica Pegula qualified for the China Open semifinals after an exciting match against her compatriot Emma Navarro. Pegula, seeded number five, defeated Navarro with partials of 6-7 (2), 6-2 and 6-1, demonstrating her ability to react after a complicated first set.

I told myself not to get too frustrated. Stay calm, try to relax a bit, and not try so hard to execute the game plan. That allowed me to play more freely.

In the next round, Pegula will face Linda Noskova, who secured her place in the semifinals after defeating Sonay Kartal with a score of 6-3 and 6-4. Noskova, at just 20 years old, became the youngest Czech player to reach a WTA 1000 semifinal since the format was implemented in 2009. The other semifinal will be an American duel between defending champion Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova, seeded number three.
