Tennis player Leylah Fernandez won the title at the WTA Japan Open, after defeating young prospect Tereza Valentova in an exciting final.
Fernandez, who is in the number 27 position in the world ranking, demonstrated his skill on the court by defeating Valentova with scores of 6-0, 5-7 and 6-3.
The Canadian dominated the first set, but Valentova reacted in the second, taking the match to a decisive third set.
In the final set, Fernandez achieved a crucial break in the fourth game, which allowed him to secure the victory and his second title of the season.
This victory marks the fifth title in Fernandez’s career, solidifying her position in women’s tennis.
