Coco Gauff Advances to the Fourth Round of Roland Garros
American tennis player Coco Gauff had a promising start in the third round of the French Open, securing a victory that propels her to the next phase of the tournament. Gauff demonstrated her skill on the court, overcoming her opponent and advancing in pursuit of the title.
Gauff, ranked number two, started strong, taking a 3-0 lead in the first ten minutes of the match. The 2023 US Open champion faced challenges, but managed to stay calm and secure the victory against Marie Bouzkova with a score of 6-1, 7-6 (3). The young tennis player, 21, seeks to repeat her success in Paris, where she was runner-up in 2022. Her next match will be against Ekaterina Alexandrova, number 20 in the world, in a crucial match to advance to the quarterfinals.The second set was an intense battle that lasted 75 minutes, with multiple service breaks. Gauff had more than twice as many winners as Bouzkova in the second set, 22 to 11, and also benefited by winning the point on 11 of her 14 trips to the net.
