Jack Draper Advances at Wimbledon After Baez’s Injury Retirement
Jack Draper, with a solid performance, secured his place in the second round of Wimbledon after his opponent, Sebastián Báez, retired due to an injury. Draper’s physical superiority seemed to be too much for the Argentinian, who was affected by an injury suffered at the beginning of the second set. Draper, who was leading the match with partial scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 2-1, demonstrated his dominance on the court. Báez, after a fall and injury at the beginning of the second set, could not continue, allowing Draper to advance. Draper started the match perfectly, breaking Báez’s serve in the first game, amidst the intense London summer heat.
In the next round, Draper will face Croatian Marin Cilic, a player who has won the US Open and also reached a Wimbledon final. Draper could face Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.I wanted to play a bit more, to be honest. It’s not the way to win and I wish Sebastian the best in his recovery, of course.

Also noteworthy is the progress of Dan Evans and Jack Pinnington Jones.I don’t think about it until people mention it every five minutes! I just think about what I can control and play the best tennis I can.
