Novak Djokovic Withdraws from the Paris Masters Due to Injury
The Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from next week’s Paris Masters, as he communicated on his social media on Tuesday. This decision comes a few days after the player was forced to withdraw from an exhibition event due to a leg injury.
Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slam titles, has had a season with little activity, participating in only eight ATP Tour tournaments outside of the four majors.
Despite this, the 38-year-old tennis player managed to reach the semifinals at the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open this season. From the end of May to the end of September, his only tournaments were the last three mentioned.
In his most recent official tournament, the Shanghai Masters, Djokovic was affected by a hip injury, which resulted in his elimination in the semifinals.
Djokovic was one of six players invited to the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia last week. After passing the first round by exemption, he lost to Jannik Sinner and then faced Taylor Fritz to determine third place, but withdrew after a set.
The ATP Finals, for which Djokovic qualified but was absent in 2024, will be held from November 9 to 16 in Turin, Italy.
