Novak Djokovic Withdraws from the Paris Masters Due to Injury

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from the Paris Masters, which will be held next week. The news was communicated through his social media on Tuesday, a few days after he was forced to withdraw from an exhibition event due to a leg injury. Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slam titles, has had a season with little activity, participating in only eight ATP circuit tournaments outside of the four major tournaments. At 38 years old, Djokovic reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open this season. Between the end of May and the end of September, his only participations were in these last three Grand Slams. In his most recent official tournament, the Shanghai Masters, Djokovic was affected by a hip injury, which prevented him from advancing beyond the semifinals. He was one of the six players invited to the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia last week. After an initial exemption, Djokovic lost to Jannik Sinner and then faced Taylor Fritz to determine third place, but withdrew after the first set. The ATP Finals, for which Djokovic qualified but skipped in 2024, will be held from November 9 to 16 in Turin, Italy.
