Novak Djokovic Withdraws from the Paris Masters Due to Injury

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from the Paris Masters, which will be held next week. The news was communicated through his social media on Tuesday, a few days after the player was forced to withdraw from an exhibition event due to a leg injury. Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slam titles, has had a season with little activity, participating in only eight ATP tournaments outside of the four majors. Despite this, the 38-year-old tennis player managed to reach the semifinals at the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open this season. Between the end of May and the end of September, his only participations were in these last three Grand Slams. In his most recent official tournament, the Shanghai Masters, Djokovic was affected by hip discomfort, which prevented him from advancing beyond the semifinals. Djokovic was one of six players invited to the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia last week. After being exempt in the first round, he lost to Jannik Sinner and then faced Taylor Fritz to determine third place, but retired after one set. The ATP Finals, for which Djokovic qualified but did not participate in 2024, will take place from November 9 to 16 in Turin, Italy.
