Miami Gardens, Florida – Novak Djokovic withdraws from the Miami Open due to a right shoulder injury, according to tournament organizers on Sunday.

Djokovic, winner of the event six times and finalist eight times, shares the record for most men’s singles titles and finals at the tournament with Andre Agassi.

The tennis player, currently ranked number 3 in the world, fell to Jakub Menšík in the final last year in Miami. Djokovic was crowned champion of the tournament in 2007, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016, and also reached the final in 2009.

The men’s draw for the tournament will be announced on Monday.

Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slam tournaments, participated last week in Indian Wells, reaching the fourth round in singles and the second round in doubles. Previously, he reached the final of the Australian Open this year, where he was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz.
