Djokovic Overcomes Challenge in Shanghai with Victory Against Munar

Shanghai – Novak Djokovic, after a match full of intensity and physical demand, managed to overcome Jaume Munar with partials of 6-3, 5-7 and 6-2 in the Shanghai Masters this Tuesday. The high temperatures and humidity were determining factors in the development of the match. Djokovic, visibly affected, required medical assistance after losing the second set. After a long exchange that culminated in a missed forehand, the tennis player collapsed on the court. He remained lying face up with his arm over his eyes for several seconds, before sitting up and resting his head between his legs. He received help from the medical staff to return to his chair. He received medical treatment before starting the third set, managing to break Munar’s serve immediately after, thanks to an error by his opponent who missed an easy smash when leading 40-15. The 38-year-old player chose not to participate in the traditional post-match interview, but shared his impressions on social media, describing the day as “tough” and “physically challenging”.
