Djokovic draws inspiration from LeBron and Ronaldo to extend his career
The Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has revealed that he feels motivated by figures like LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo, with the aim of continuing his professional career until the age of 40.Djokovic, speaking at the Joy Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, before participating in the Six Kings Slam, highlighted the impressive careers of athletes like James, who is still competing at 40, and Ronaldo, as well as the case of Tom Brady, who played until his early 40s. The 38-year-old Serbian tennis player has acknowledged that these figures inspire him to keep going. Djokovic seeks to win his 25th Grand Slam title and break the record for the most individual titles in the history of tennis. Although two years have passed without winning a Grand Slam title, surpassed by Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, Djokovic is not considering retirement. Djokovic has also expressed his desire to play all four Grand Slams in 2026, which would extend his career at least until 2027. In addition to his ambition on the court, Djokovic, co-founder of the Professional Tennis Players Association in 2020, seeks to use his influence to improve the sport. The top players are pressuring the Grand Slams for a greater share of revenue, and the PTPA has filed lawsuits against tennis governing bodies to push for changes.Longevity is one of my biggest motivations. I really want to see how far I can go.
