Djokovic advances to Semifinals in Geneva on his Birthday
Novak Djokovic, on his 38th birthday, secured his place in the semi-finals of the Geneva Open this Thursday, defeating Matteo Arnaldi, who eliminated him in the Madrid Masters last month.
Djokovic demonstrated a great comeback in the second set, achieving a victory with scores of 6-4, 6-4 over Arnaldi, ranked 39th in the world, in the quarter-final match.
The second seed, Djokovic, reacted with frustration by smashing his racket against the ground after losing his serve and falling 3-1 behind in the second set, after sending a backhand long.
I apologize for the racket, it’s not a good example, especially for young people. Thank you for your support. I know it’s not easy to be here in the low temperatures.

Despite being 4-1 down, and after appearing to suffer a right knee injury while attempting a shot, Djokovic won five consecutive games to secure the victory.
He seized his first opportunity to close out the match when Arnaldi sent a forehand wide.
It was much closer than the score suggests.
