Djokovic and Murray: Early End to the Technical Partnership in Tennis

The partnership between Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic has come to an end. After six months of collaboration, the training link between both tennis players has concluded earlier than expected.

Djokovic, who is seeking his eighth Wimbledon title, will no longer have Murray as his coach due to a series of unfavorable results during the season.

Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, the fun, and the support over the last six months on and off the court. I really enjoyed deepening our friendship.

Murray, who began coaching Djokovic in November, also expressed his gratitude:

Thanks to Novak for the incredible opportunity to work together, and thanks to his team for all their hard work over the last six months. I wish Novak all the best for the rest of the season.

Djokovic, who achieved 25 victories in 36 matches against Murray, highlighted the hard work and support of his former rival during their brief collaboration.

The Serbian tennis player reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open in January, but an injury cut short his participation. He reached the final of the Miami Masters in March, but his attempt to obtain his 100th title at circuit level ended in defeat against Jakub Mensik.

Djokovic, who will turn 38 three days before the start of the second Grand Slam of the year, has shown a poor performance since his defeat in Miami. He was defeated in his first matches at the Masters tournaments in Monte Carlo and Madrid last month.

Djokovic was expected to boost his clay-court campaign in Rome before returning to Paris, where he won Olympic gold last year, but he withdrew from the ongoing Italian Open without giving a reason.

The Serbian tennis player accepted an invitation to the Geneva Open, which will be held from May 18 to 24.
