De Minaur Reaches 50 Wins in the Season at the Shanghai Masters

In a standout performance at the Shanghai Masters, seventh seed Alex De Minaur achieved his 50th victory of the season, solidifying himself as a key player on the circuit. He defeated Nuno Borges with a score of 7-5, 6-2.

De Minaur demonstrated his prowess on the court with 19 winners, securing his place in the quarterfinals of the Masters 1000 in one hour and 47 minutes.

Only Carlos Alcaraz, with 67 victories, and Taylor Fritz, with 50, have previously reached this mark in 2025.

In his most successful season so far, De Minaur accumulated 47 wins in 2024, including two titles.

In the next round, De Minaur will face the sixteenth seed, Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Learner Tien with scores of 7-6 (6), 6-7 (1), 6-4.

Furthermore, Felix Auger-Aliassime, the twelfth seed, eliminated Lorenzo Musetti (eighth seed) with a score of 6-4, 6-2, securing his place in the quarterfinals against Arthur Rinderknech, who previously surprised by defeating the fifteenth seed, Jiri Lehecka, with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (5).

Rinderknech, ranked 54th in the world and who previously knocked out Alexander Zverev (third seed), joins his cousin Valentin Vacherot in the quarterfinals.
