De Minaur Reaches 50 Wins in the Season

Australian tennis player Alex De Minaur, seeded number seven, became the third player this season to reach 50 victories at the tournament level, after defeating Nuno Borges at the Shanghai Masters.

De Minaur secured the victory with scores of 7-5 and 6-2. The match, which lasted one hour and 47 minutes, saw De Minaur hit 19 winners, securing his place in the quarterfinals of a Masters 1000 for the seventh time in his career.

Only Carlos Alcaraz, with 67 victories, and Taylor Fritz, with 50, had already reached this mark in 2025.

In his best previous season, De Minaur accumulated 47 victories and two titles.

In the next phase, De Minaur will face Daniil Medvedev, who, seeded number 16, defeated Learner Tien with scores of 7-6 (6), 6-7 (1) and 6-4.

Also, Felix Auger-Aliassime, seeded number 12, eliminated Lorenzo Musetti, eighth seed, with a score of 6-4 and 6-2. This secures him a place in the quarterfinals against Arthur Rinderknech, who previously surprised by defeating Jiri Lehecka, seeded number 15, with a result of 6-3 and 7-6 (5).

Rinderknech, ranked 54th, had previously eliminated Alexander Zverev, the third seed, and now joins his cousin Valentin Vacherot in the quarterfinals.
