Alex De Minaur Reaches 50 Wins in the Season

In a standout performance at the Shanghai Masters, Alex De Minaur, seeded number seven, became the third player of the season to reach 50 tour-level tournament wins. The Australian tennis player achieved this feat after defeating Nuno Borges with a score of 7-5 and 6-2. De Minaur displayed a dominant game, connecting 19 winning shots in a match that lasted one hour and 47 minutes, securing his place in the quarterfinals of a Masters 1000 for the seventh time in his career. Only Carlos Alcaraz, with 67 victories, and Taylor Fritz, with 50, had previously managed to reach 50 victories in the 2025 season. In his most successful season so far, De Minaur had accumulated 47 wins in 2024, achieving two titles. In his next match, De Minaur will face Russian Daniil Medvedev, seeded number 16, who defeated Learner Tien with scores of 7-6 (6), 6-7 (1) and 6-4. In addition, Felix Auger-Aliassime, seeded number 12, eliminated Lorenzo Musetti, eighth seed, with a score of 6-4 and 6-2, securing his place in the quarterfinals against Arthur Rinderknech. Rinderknech, who previously surprised by defeating Alexander Zverev, third seed, joins his cousin Valentin Vacherot in the quarterfinals.
