The four-time Grand Slam champion, Jannik Sinner, who led Italy to victory in 2023 and 2024, chose not to participate in this edition of the Davis Cup. The event in Bologna marks the sixth edition of the renewed Davis Cup format, where the champion is decided at a neutral venue. In other results, Spain will face the Czech Republic (seed number 4), and Germany (number 2) will play against Argentina in the last two quarterfinals on Thursday.
