Lois Boisson Ascends After Surprising Performance at Roland Garros

Lois Boisson, the tennis player who surprised at the recent French Open, has experienced an impressive rise in the WTA ranking. Her outstanding participation in Roland Garros has allowed her to climb 296 positions.

The French player, who was ranked 361st before her participation in the clay Grand Slam, is now in 65th place according to the latest ranking update published on Monday.

Coco Gauff, who defeated Boisson in the semifinals, won the French Open title. At the top of the women’s ranking, there were no changes, with Aryna Sabalenka leading the classification, followed by Gauff and the American Jessica Pegula.

Sabalenka was defeated by Gauff in the Roland Garros final.

Boisson, who received an invitation to participate in Paris, managed to defeat Pegula, the third seed, to reach the quarterfinals. Subsequently, she defeated Mirra Andreeva, before Gauff ended her outstanding performance.

Alcaraz Maintains Position in ATP Ranking

Carlos Alcaraz, after revalidating his title on Sunday in the longest final in the history of Roland Garros against Jannik Sinner, remains in second place in the ATP men’s ranking, behind the Italian tennis player.

Despite the defeat, Sinner increased his lead to 2,030 points, as Alcaraz, as defending champion, was unable to add points. Sinner, for his part, obtained 500 points by reaching the final, after having lost in the semifinals the previous year.

Alexander Zverev, ranked third, dropped 900 points after his defeat to Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals. Djokovic rose to fifth place, surpassed by Jack Draper, who holds the fourth position.
