Facundo Bagnis, Argentinian Tennis Player, Provisionally Suspended for Doping

Argentine tennis player Facundo Bagnis has initiated a voluntary provisional suspension after testing positive for a banned substance. The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) made the announcement this Thursday.

Bagnis, 35, was tested during the US Open qualifying in August. In that tournament, he suffered his sixth consecutive defeat in the Grand Slam qualifying.

Bagnis reached the number 55 position in the ATP ranking, his best position, in 2016.

The tennis player was notified of the result this month and chose to begin the provisional suspension last week. If a sanction is imposed, the time of the provisional suspension will be counted.
