Mirra Andreeva: Defeat at Indian Wells and Controversial Reaction
The current Indian Wells champion, Mirra Andreeva, suffered a defeat against Katerina Siniakova in the third round of the tournament. The match, which extended to three sets, culminated with a score of 4-6, 7-6(5), 3-6. The tension of the match led Andreeva to visibly show her frustration. After losing the second set tiebreak, she threw her racket, which resulted in a warning. Subsequently, after the final point of the match, Andreeva threw her racket again and, after greeting her opponent, left the court exchanging gestures and words with the audience.I am not proud of how I handled the situation.
