Alcaraz Overcomes Injury and Advances in the Japan Open

TOKYO – World number one Carlos Alcaraz showed his resilience by recovering from an ankle injury to defeat Sebastián Báez in the second round of the Japan Open on Thursday. The incident occurred during the first set, when Alcaraz fell on the court, generating concern among those present.

When I planted my ankle, I was worried, because at first it didn’t feel right.

Alcaraz, visibly affected, grabbed his left ankle after the fall, generating moments of uncertainty in the match.

Despite the setback, the tennis player managed to recover and secure the victory with a score of 6-4, 6-2.

After receiving medical attention and bandaging his ankle, Alcaraz resumed the game with determination.
