Alcaraz Advances to Italian Open Semifinals After Defeating Draper

Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz demonstrated his power on the court by defeating Jack Draper with a score of 6-4, 6-4, securing his place in the semifinals of the Italian Open.

Alcaraz, ranked number three in the world, displayed a remarkable recovery in his game, especially after withdrawing from the Madrid tournament due to a right leg injury. His performance in Rome showed excellent mobility, frequent approaches to the net, and the effective use of his characteristic drop shots and groundstrokes.

The match became crucial in the eighth game of the second set, where Draper seemed to be close to forcing a third set. Alcaraz, however, managed to save two break points in a game that lasted almost ten minutes, demonstrating his resilience and determination.

The most important thing I did today was not to think about the shots at all. Not to think about the fact that I was down, just trying to do the things that make me happy. On the court, I just tried to be aggressive, play good shots, drop shots, go to the net. That’s what I like to do on the court, and I think that made the difference today.

Alcaraz’s next challenge will be to face the winner of the match between Alexander Zverev, the current champion, and Lorenzo Musetti.
