Alcaraz Headlines Miami Invitational at LoanDepot Park
The world’s number one tennis player, Carlos Alcaraz, will lead the Miami Invitational, an exhibition event to be held this year at LoanDepot Park, the home of the Marlins. This one-day event, scheduled for December 8, will mark the first time a tennis event is held at the Marlins stadium. In addition to Alcaraz, the Miami Invitational will feature Joao Fonseca, ranked number 42, Amanda Anisimova, ranked number 4, and Emma Raducanu, ranked 33. The event will consist of two singles matches, each best-of-three sets, with a 10-point tiebreak to decide the third set. Anisimova, finalist of the US Open and Wimbledon this year, will face Raducanu, champion of the 2021 US Open. Subsequently, Alcaraz, six-time Grand Slam champion, will face Fonseca, the highest-ranked singles player from Brazil, aged 19, in the first match between the two.“Featuring two of the brightest female stars, Anisimova and Raducanu, along with the first encounter between Alcaraz and Fonseca, should result in an electrifying night for tennis fans,” stated Molly Pendleton, Senior Vice President of Unified Events, a partner of LoanDepot Park for this event.
