Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson highlighted the grit of his players after the victory against Millwall, a significant result before the international break. The 2-0 victory at The Den not only represented Wrexham’s first win in the Sky Bet Championship of the season, but also their first win in the second division since the 1981-82 season. Kieffer Moore scored his fourth goal in three games, followed by Lewis O’Brien’s goal, sealing the result after a stoppage for an injury to goalkeeper Danny Ward. Parkinson: “We showed a gritty and determined nature today, and I think that was important.”

Wrexham took the lead in the 57th minute, when Moore took advantage of a cross from Max Cleworth and scored with a header. Millwall struggled to react, and O’Brien secured the victory in added time. Millwall manager Alex Neil commented that the lack of precision in the use of the ball in the last third of the field was key to the defeat. He also mentioned the error in the first goal.
