UEFA Apologizes for Lack of Medals in Europa League Final

UEFA has issued an apology following the trophy presentation ceremony of the Europa League final, where not enough medals were provided for all Tottenham Hotspur players.

The English team surpassed Manchester United with a score of 1-0, securing their fourth European title.

Key players like Son Heung-Min, Cristian Romero, and Rodrigo Bentancur, who were the last to receive their individual medals, were left without physical recognition during the ceremony.

UEFA explained that the lack of medals was due to an “unexpected discrepancy” in the number of players who participated in the ceremony, including injured players.

“To our great regret, we did not have enough medals available on the stage during the trophy ceremony presentation due to an unexpected discrepancy in the player count, as more team members, including injured players, participated in the ceremony than initially anticipated,” UEFA said in a statement.
