Rodri Withdraws from the Spanish National Team Due to Injury

The Spanish national team has confirmed Rodri’s absence for the upcoming matches against Georgia and Bulgaria, according to information from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The concern over Rodri’s injuries continues. The midfielder had to be substituted in the 21st minute of Manchester City’s match against Brentford in the Premier League. The 29-year-old player sat in the center circle clutching his hamstring and eventually had to leave the field, being replaced by Nico González.

I felt a little in the hamstring, but it seems it’s not much. I stretched a bit, like in the Eurocup final. But the most important thing is that it’s not that serious.

Rodri injured his hamstring during Manchester City’s victory against Brentford on Sunday. Rodri has been working on his physical form and seeking to regain his best level for the club and the national team after the serious knee injury he suffered last season. Rodri underwent surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee after suffering the injury, which also affected the meniscus, in a Premier League match against Arsenal in September 2024. After returning to action at the end of last season, Rodri has been regaining his physical form in recent weeks, seeking to recover the level that led him to win the Ballon d’Or last year.
