Wrexham AFC Announces Pre-Season Tour in Australia and New Zealand
Wrexham AFC, a team known for its recent promotion and ownership by Hollywood stars, has confirmed its participation in a series of pre-season friendly matches in Australia and New Zealand in July.
The “Red Dragons” will face three A-League teams during their tour.
- Melbourne Victory at Marvel Stadium on July 11.
- Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on July 15.
- Wellington Phoenix at Sky Stadium on July 19.
The club, acquired by actors and businessmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2021, has experienced a notable rise, documented in the series “Welcome to Wrexham”.
Recently, the team achieved promotion to the Championship, marking their third consecutive promotion.
From the beginning, we wanted to help make Wrexham a globally recognized team, city, and brand,” co-chairmen McElhenney and Reynolds said in a press release.
