Real Madrid Aims to Resume Concerts at the Bernabéu After Record Revenue
Real Madrid is optimistic about the possibility of resuming the celebration of concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium this year, once the remodeling works of the venue are completed. The club announced this perspective after recording record revenues of 1.185 billion euros. The Madrid board presented the details of the club’s accounts for the 2024-25 season on Thursday. The team, led by new coach Xabi Alonso, did not achieve any major titles and reached the semi-finals of the Club World Cup this month. The remodeling of the Bernabéu is close to completion after six years of work. An important factor was the suspension of concerts in the stadium last year, due to complaints from neighbors about noise levels.Pending the resumption of concerts at the stadium, under the approved conditions, the club anticipates further growth in revenue from VIP seats, the RM Experience, and other stadium marketing activities, with the highlight being hosting an NFL game at the stadium. Real Madrid postponed all concerts scheduled at the Bernabéu in September 2024, after having held some events in the reconstructed stadium, including Taylor Swift, in order to comply with local laws on noise limits. In addition to the revenue figure of 1.185 billion euros, which represents a 10% increase compared to 2023-24, when Madrid became the first football club to exceed one billion euros in annual revenue, the latest accounts also include a profit after tax of 24.3 million euros, compared to 15.6 million the previous year. The club also reported that it has a cash balance of 166 million euros, compared to 82 million euros in 2023-24. The figures do not include Madrid’s expenses on the extensive remodeling of the Bernabéu, which the club accounts for separately. Madrid indicated that its total spending on the project, as of June 30, 2025, was 1.347 billion euros, which, it said, is “close to the final total investment”. The outstanding balance of the loans that Madrid has requested to finance the stadium works amounts to 1.132 billion euros, according to the club.“The final steps of the stadium remodeling will be carried out during the 2025/26 fiscal year,” Madrid indicated in a statement detailing the latest accounts on Thursday, “including certain catering activities and improvements in noise reduction for concerts.”
