The English striker, Marcus Rashford, is about to finalize his loan to Barcelona for next season. Manchester United has given the green light for the player to start talks with the Catalan club, according to sources close to the matter.
Rashford, 27, has been training away from United’s first team for the last two weeks after the coach, Ruben Amorim, informed him that he is not part of his plans at Old Trafford.
A six-month loan to Aston Villa last season did not translate into a permanent transfer despite a prior agreement of £40 million, but sources indicate that Rashford has always preferred to join Barcelona, an option that arose in January. After failing to secure their main target, Nico Williams, who renewed his contract with Athletic Club, and faced with Liverpool’s refusal for Luis Díaz, Barcelona has set its sights on Rashford after United accepted a loan deal with an option to buy.
Rashford, with three years remaining on his contract with United, where he earns £325,000 per week, has scored 138 goals in 426 matches since his debut in February 2016, when he was 18 years old.

During his time at the club, he has also contributed to United’s successes in the Europa League, two FA Cups and the Carabao Cup. However, he has not played for United since the match against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League last December, as Amorim left him out for the 2-1 Premier League victory against Manchester City and has not considered him for the first team since then.
Rashford and his representatives have been given permission to negotiate with Barcelona, but an agreement has not yet been reached between all parties.
