AC Milan confirmed this Friday that Christian Pulisic suffered a right hamstring injury while playing a friendly with the United States national team.
The Italian club announced that an MRI performed revealed a “low-grade injury” in the player’s right hamstring. A reevaluation is expected in approximately ten days.
This type of injury can heal in as little as three weeks, which could allow Pulisic to be back for the derby against Inter Milan on November 23. The player has been a key piece for Milan this season, who currently occupies third place in Serie A.
The United States has friendly matches scheduled for November 15 and 18 against Paraguay and Uruguay, both teams qualified for the 48-team World Cup. The United States will co-host the tournament with Canada and Mexico.
The next official match for the U.S. national team will be the opening match of the World Cup on June 12 at SoFi Stadium, near Los Angeles. The opponent will be known at the final tournament draw on December 5 in Washington DC.
