Paris Saint-Germain has expressed its discontent with the French Football Federation (FFF) following the “serious and avoidable” injuries suffered by its stars, Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué, during recent commitments with the national team. Dembélé and Doué will be out for six and four weeks, respectively, due to muscle injuries. The Parisian club has expressed its concern about the impact of these injuries on the team’s performance.

PSG regrets that the medical recommendations provided were not taken into account by the medical staff of the French national team.

Ousmane Dembélé
Ousmane Dembélé ha sido descartado por seis semanas debido a una lesión en el tendón de la corva.
In a forceful statement, PSG criticized the national team for causing “significant sporting consequences” for both the club and the players, urging for “rapid and immediate corrective action.” The club emphasized that it provided the FFF with detailed medical information on the workload its players could handle and the risk of injuries. The club also lamented the lack of consultation and collaboration with its medical teams, highlighting the importance of prioritizing the health of the players. The PSG has urgently requested a new medical-sports coordination protocol between clubs and the national team, with the aim of ensuring a systematic and documented exchange of information between medical teams. Both players will miss the crucial Champions League clash against Barcelona on October 1, as well as several important domestic matches. Coach Didier Deschamps commented on Dembélé’s situation, stating that he was fit to play. However, the injury in training was inevitable. PSG has stated that it is ready to actively contribute to this collective effort, for the benefit of the players and professional football in general.
