PSG Conquers Champions League with Historic Victory

Paris Saint-Germain secured their first Champions League title with a resounding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in Munich. This result not only represents the largest goal difference in a final since 1956, but also consolidates a historic treble for the club, after winning Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.

The scoring was opened in the 12th minute with a goal by Achraf Hakimi against his former club. 19-year-old Désiré Doué became the youngest player to score two goals in a final since Eusebio in 1962, putting PSG in a dominant position. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu, from the bench, completed the rout to secure the French team’s historic victory.

For over a decade, the Qatar-owned club invested in big stars like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Kylian Mbappé, with the aim of winning the Champions League.

However, after changing its strategy two years ago and focusing on young talents, PSG has been crowned European champion, ironically in its first season without Mbappé, who joined Real Madrid last summer with the intention of winning this same title.

This victory makes PSG the second French club to win the European Cup, after Olympique de Marseille in 1993. Coach Luis Enrique adds his second success in the competition, after his victory with Barcelona in 2015.
