Priority Visas for FIFA World Cup Fans in the U.S.

Ticket holders for the FIFA World Cup will receive priority visa interviews to facilitate their entry into the United States, according to an official announcement. This measure was taken after a meeting between the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the White House Task Force, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The FIFA Priority Appointment Scheduling System (FIFA PASS) seeks to balance strict immigration policies with the need to ensure seamless access for fans of the world’s largest football tournament.

America welcomes the world. We have always said that this will be the biggest and most inclusive FIFA World Cup in history, and the FIFA PASS service is a very concrete example of this.

A total of eleven U.S. cities will host 78 matches during the 48-team tournament. In addition, three Mexican and two Canadian cities will also host matches. FIFA announced that over a million tickets were sold in October, and the second phase of sales for another million tickets began. Teams from around the world are in the final stages of qualifying to complete the 48-team field, with the United States, Mexico, and Canada already qualified as hosts. The group stage draw will take place on December 5th. Trump urged World Cup travelers to apply for their visas “immediately”.
