Modric to AC Milan: Real Madrid star, ready for Serie A

The renowned footballer Luka Modrić has reached a verbal agreement to join AC Milan, as announced by the sporting director of the Serie A club, Igli Tare. I spoke with him in person and saw a player eager to compete. His arrival is crucial for a group that needs players like him, with leadership. Tare revealed to Gazzetta dello Sport that Modrić showed great interest in joining a team with championship aspirations. The player, with six Champions League titles to his name, is looking for a starring role from the start. Modrić’s experience and leadership are seen as key factors for Milan. Personal terms have been agreed upon between Modrić and Milan. The agreement was finalized at the beginning of June, before the start of the Club World Cup. The official signing will take place once the tournament in the United States concludes. Modrić will sign a one-year contract, with the option to extend it for another, with a net salary of around 3.5 million euros per season, plus bonuses. At 40 years old, Modrić is in top form and aims to reach the United States World Cup with a good pace of play, after leaving Real Madrid after 13 years full of successes, where he won 28 important titles. Furthermore, Milan has reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka, although an agreement on the transfer fee has not yet been finalized.
