Inter Miami Triumphs and Advances to the MLS Cup Final

Inter Miami CF achieved a resounding 5-1 victory against New York City FC on Saturday night at Chase Stadium, securing their place in the MLS Cup for the first time in their history. Tadeo Allende was the key figure in the Herons’ attack in the Eastern Conference final, scoring a hat trick and establishing an early lead with two goals in the first 23 minutes of the match. Although New York tried to react with a goal from Justin Haak before halftime, Inter Miami’s defense and goalkeeper, Rocco Ríos Novo, contained the visiting team’s efforts. In the second half, Mateo Silvetti, who joined Inter Miami in August 2025, extended the lead with the third goal of the night, after a connection with Lionel Messi. Telasco Segovia closed the scoring with the fourth goal, ten minutes after entering the field. Inter Miami is now preparing to host the 2025 MLS Cup, facing the winner of the Western Conference final between San Diego and Vancouver Whitecaps, thanks to their position in the overall MLS regular season standings. The Herons finished the season in third place in the East with 65 points, while San Diego and Vancouver each recorded 63 points. Previously, the Herons overcame Nashville SC in the first round of the best-of-three series, and then triumphed against FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium in the Eastern Conference semi-final. The team had struggled to advance beyond the first round in the 2024, 2022 and 2020 classifications.
