Kylian Mbappé has expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, calling him “the number one” at Real Madrid and highlighting his influence as a “role model.” The French striker, who seeks to emulate Ronaldo’s success at the club, has revealed that he has sought advice from the Portuguese star, currently at Al Nassr. Ronaldo, with 450 goals in nine seasons at Real Madrid, is an iconic figure for Mbappé. The Frenchman, who scored 44 goals in his debut season at the Santiago Bernabéu, aspires to follow in the footsteps of his idol.
Mbappé also highlighted Ronaldo’s importance to Real Madrid fans and his desire to forge his own path at the club. Despite Mbappé’s good goalscoring performance, Real Madrid did not achieve any important titles last season. Currently, the team leads LaLiga after eight matchdays, with a two-point advantage over Barcelona. In an interview, Mbappé commented on the defeat in the derby against Atlético de Madrid, pointing out the lack of intensity in the game. Mbappé scored for France in the World Cup qualifying victory against Azerbaijan, but was substituted due to an ankle injury, similar to the one suffered in Madrid. France is considered one of the favorites to win the 2026 World Cup, but Mbappé sees Spain as a serious contender. Regarding his relationship with Vinícius Júnior at Real Madrid, Mbappé stated that they have a good relationship and that it has improved over time.“Cristiano has always been a role model for me.
