Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca shows caution regarding Nicolas Jackson’s inside knowledge as his team prepares to face Bayern Munich on Wednesday. The Blues will face their loanee striker in their first Champions League match in over two years at the Allianz Arena, following his controversial departure on the transfer deadline day. The 24-year-old player was informed during the summer that Maresca no longer counted on him, but after an agreement was reached with Bayern Munich, he was brought back after the injury of striker Liam Delap, a measure that Jackson successfully resisted to force the agreement.

Maresca acknowledges that Bayern Munich might have a slight advantage.I have no problem with Nico. He’s a good guy, a good professional who worked well with us. That’s all.
Maresca
Maresca expressed his gratitude towards Jackson. It’s a small advantage because (Bayern Munich coach, Vincent Kompany) can ask Nico how we work and how we prepare for matches. He knows exactly how we approach the matches.
Maresca
I am grateful and I thank Nico. What we achieved last year was thanks to all the players, including Nicolas. I sent him a text message after he left thanking him for last season and wishing him the best.

A year ago we were playing the Conference League qualifier, so we are happy to be here.
