Manchester United: Transfers and Targets in Sight for the Champions League
Manchester United manager Marc Skinner confirmed some important absences ahead of the Champions League qualifying match against PSV Eindhoven. In addition, the coach stressed that the Women’s Super League (WSL) women’s team is still actively looking for reinforcements in the forward line during this transfer window. Skinner revealed that the new additions, Fridolina Rolfö, former Barcelona player, along with Leah Galton and Rachel Williams, will miss the first leg of the qualifying phase. Grace Clinton, who has been linked with a possible transfer to Manchester City, will also be absent due to a “minor issue”.
Regarding the rumors about City’s interest in the 21-year-old player, Skinner described her as “a fantastic footballer”, but stated that “he has not been told anything about it”. Rolfö, Williams and Galton are expected to be out for two to three weeks.“We’re going to monitor Grace and see how she is. Coming out of the Euros, she has, again, a little niggle that we’re managing. But other than that, everyone else is fit, in form and ready to play. It’s pretty good considering we’ve probably only had three or four weeks of pre-season,” Skinner commented.

The Wednesday match against PSV is United’s second participation in Europe, after failing to overcome Paris Saint-Germain in their two debut seasons. If they manage to advance, they will face Hammarby or Metalist Kharkiv before entering the final qualifying round.“We need to bring in forwards, I think, in this market, possibly two,” Skinner stated at a press conference on Tuesday.
