Manchester United seeks to reinforce the goal: Emi Martínez in the crosshairs
Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martínez, according to sources close to the club. United is interested in incorporating a new goalkeeper before the end of the transfer market. In addition to Martinez, the club has contacted Royal Antwerp for the 23-year-old goalkeeper, Senne Lammens. United’s board has also closely followed Martinez’s situation, after Aston Villa rejected a loan offer earlier in the summer. United’s interest in a new goalkeeper intensifies after the irregular starts of André Onana and Altay Bayindir this season. Onana made a mistake that resulted in a goal in the elimination of the Carabao Cup against Grimsby Town, while Bayindir, who started in the three Premier League matches, has had error-prone performances.
“Everyone talks about the goalkeeper. I think it’s difficult to be Manchester United’s goalkeeper at the moment. The players are struggling a bit with everything surrounding the club. That’s normal. So it’s not just the goalkeepers. I think everyone has to improve”.

Aston Villa interested in Jadon Sancho
Meanwhile, Aston Villa is interested in Jadon Sancho. United is looking for Sancho to leave before the transfer deadline, and the 25-year-old player could join Aston Villa on loan, in a deal separate from the possible signing of Martinez by United.
