Liverpool Bolsters Defense with Milos Kerkez

Liverpool has finalized the signing of left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, according to the current Premier League champions. With this acquisition, the club raises its investment in the summer market to approximately 170 million pounds sterling. Kerkez arrives at Liverpool with a five-year contract, following an agreement between the clubs for a total of 40 million pounds sterling. The signing of Kerkez represents the third high-profile addition for Liverpool in this transfer period, joining Jeremie Frimpong and German midfielder Florian Wirtz, who arrived for a club-record fee, valued at up to £116 million. Liverpool’s active participation in the market contrasts with their performance the previous summer, where only two signings were finalized. The international Hungarian Kerkez joins the team after a standout season, in which his two goals and six assists from defense contributed to Bournemouth achieving their best position in the Premier League. At 21 years old, Kerkez will compete for a place with Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas at Anfield. Liverpool had already secured the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong this summer, following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure to Real Madrid. Kerkez has been a key player for Bournemouth since his arrival in 2023, coming from AZ Alkmaar, and was a starter in all the matches of the season under the management of Andoni Iraola. Furthermore, he has been called up 23 times by his national team.
