England and Spain dominated the UEFA team of the tournament after the Lionesses’ triumph over La Roja in a tense penalty shootout in the final.
Chloe Kelly’s penalty secured the tournament for Sarina Wiegman’s team and ensured that England retained the European crown they first won in 2022.
The team, chosen by the UEFA technical observer group, recognized the most outstanding players during the tournament in Switzerland.Lucy Bronze and Aitana Bonmatí were included in the UEFA team of the tournament.Hannah Hampton was named in goal after her penalty heroics and Lucy Bronze, who revealed after the final that she had been playing with a broken tibia throughout England’s campaign, was selected in defense.
Kelly’s ability to deliver decisive moments for her country saw her named in the attack, while Alessia Russo was selected ahead of Spain’s Golden Boot winner, Esther González.
The current Ballon d’Or holder, Aitana Bonmatí, who was named player of the tournament, appeared in a completely Spanish midfield alongside Patri Guijarro and Alexia Putellas.
Jule Brand, from Germany, who scored two goals and provided two assists for the semi-finalists, was also included among the forwards.
