Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is set to be loaned to Bayern Munich for a season, according to sources close to the situation.
The agreement between the clubs includes a loan fee of 13 million pounds sterling (17.5 million dollars) and an option to buy for 56.25 million pounds sterling (76 million dollars). The transfer also includes a clause that grants Chelsea 25% of any future transfer of the player.
Jackson’s future has been uncertain since Chelsea decided to sign two new forwards this summer.
Aston Villa, Newcastle and Juventus also showed interest in the player, but Bayern Munich was the only team willing to match Chelsea’s valuation.Nicolas Jackson has struggled to establish himself as an elite striker in the Premier League since joining Chelsea in 2023.
Jackson scored 13 goals in 37 appearances last season and was not included in the group of players training separately from the first team. Coach Enzo Maresca kept Jackson in the team, but was open to a sale, especially due to Chelsea’s need to comply with UEFA financial regulations.
After ruling out the signing of Xavi Simons, Chelsea is now negotiating with Brighton for Facundo Buonanotte.
The 20-year-old player was expected to join Leeds on loan, but Chelsea’s interest caused that deal to collapse.
However, Brighton would only be interested in a loan to a Premier League club, rather than a permanent transfer. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can finalize a deal that satisfies all parties before Monday’s deadline.
Alejandro Garnacho is about to complete his transfer to Chelsea from Manchester United for £40 million. The winger has signed a contract until 2032.
