Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has expressed his confidence that his team will compete in all competitions this season, as long as they avoid injuries. The City has matches ahead in the Premier League, the Champions League and the League Cup before Christmas. In addition, they will participate in the FA Cup from the third round in January. Last season, Guardiola’s team suffered when they were affected by injuries. However, the coach believes that the depth of the current squad will allow them to field strong teams in each competition.

The City coach confirmed that Rodri and Mateo Kovacic will not be available for the match against Newcastle on Saturday. Kovacic missed the Club World Cup in the summer after undergoing surgery for an Achilles tendon injury. Guardiola confirmed that the 31-year-old player will be out again after another operation for an ankle problem.
