Gisele Thompson extends contract with Angel City until 2029: News!

Angel City FC announced this Friday the contract renewal of defender Gisele Thompson until 2029. The news comes after confirmation of her sister, Alyssa Thompson’s, transfer to Chelsea. Both players had signed contract extensions in January, with the aim of staying at the Los Angeles club until 2028. However, Alyssa suddenly left for Chelsea this week in a major transfer, for $1.3 million plus possible future add-ons.

I love Los Angeles and signing this new contract makes sense for me and my career. Everyone at Angel City has supported me a lot since I joined the club.

Thompson, 19, arrived at Angel City in 2024, joining her sister, a year older. Both players turned professional straight out of high school.

Thompson leads the team with four assists in the current NWSL season. She debuted with the United States women’s national team in February and has played four matches.

We are delighted that Gisele will be in Los Angeles until 2029. At 19 years old, she is already one of the most exciting players in the world.
