Chelsea has officially announced the signing of Alejandro Garnacho, coming from Manchester United. The young Argentinian talent joins the London team after an agreement for a fixed sum of 40 million pounds sterling (54 million dollars). Sources close to the club reported that the 21-year-old player had lost prominence under the direction of Ruben Amorim.

Before the transfer was made official, Garnacho was seen in the stands at Stamford Bridge during the Chelsea vs. Fulham match, a match that the home team won 2-0.

Garnacho’s situation had become tense after the player criticized Amorim for not including him in the Europa League final against Tottenham last May. During the negotiations, the footballer had been training separately from the main group at Carrington. The Argentinian international, with 16 goals in 93 Premier League appearances, joins Chelsea as a new attacking option for coach Enzo Maresca.
