Paris Saint-Germain expresses its discontent with the French national team coach, Didier Deschamps, following Ousmane Dembélé’s injury in the match against Ukraine. Dembélé, who came on in the second half, had to leave the field in the 81st minute due to an injury that could sideline him for more than a month. Sources close to the Parisian club indicate that the player will be out for between five and six weeks after undergoing medical tests in the French capital. This injury means that Dembélé will miss the start of the Champions League campaign against Atalanta, the second away match against Barcelona and, possibly, the match against Bayer Leverkusen. In addition, he will not be available for the classic against Marseille and several Ligue 1 matches. In Paris, the decision to field Dembélé was considered incomprehensible. A source revealed that the situation was “ridiculous”, especially after concerns about an injury to the other thigh suffered the previous week.
“I was sure he was capable of playing a high-level match, otherwise I wouldn’t have put him on,” Deschamps said. “This time, it’s the other thigh [than against Toulouse]. He was in shape. It’s a shame for him, but it could have happened to another player.
