Fire at Vinícius Júnior’s Residence in Madrid

An unexpected incident shook the tranquility of the Brazilian footballer Vinícius Júnior, while he is concentrated with his national team. A fire affected his residence in Madrid last Thursday, according to sources close to him.

Fortunately, the event, which originated in the basement of the house, specifically on the ceiling of a sauna, did not cause significant damage nor were any injuries reported.

The Real Madrid striker was not on the property at the time of the incident, as he is in Seoul, South Korea, preparing for Brazil’s friendlies against South Korea and Japan during this FIFA date.

The fire originated on the roof of a sauna, in the basement of the house, which was completely destroyed.

Vinícius’s domestic staff and friends, who were in the house, alerted the emergency services around 11 a.m. local time.

Vinícius’s residence is located in La Moraleja, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Madrid, on the outskirts of the Spanish capital, near Real Madrid’s sports city, Valdebebas.

Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical failure could be the cause of the fire, which was brought under control around noon, at which point the firefighters left the scene.

Brazil will face South Korea in Seoul on Friday, before taking on Japan in Tokyo four days later.
