A former England international was arrested on Sunday at Stansted Airport, on suspicion of attempted rape of a former partner.The identity of the individual, which cannot be revealed for legal reasons, has been confirmed.Essex Police reported that the man has been released on bail until “the end of February 2026”, pending further investigations.
The man was arrested at a passport control in Stansted, as initially reported by The Sun newspaper.
