Goodison Park will be the home of Everton’s women’s team from next season.
Everton have confirmed that Goodison Park will become the permanent home of their women’s team from the start of next season.
The men’s team will move to the newly built Everton Stadium at the end of this season, after 133 years at Goodison Park. They will play their last match at the stadium on Sunday against Southampton.
The women’s team, who play their home matches at Walton Hall Park, with a capacity of 2,200 spectators, has played twice at Goodison in the Women’s Super League (WSL) this season.
The move addresses the rapid growth of Everton Women and the need for a larger and more suitable stadium than Walton Hall Park.
Club statement
The move to Goodison will include improvements that will be made over time and will ensure that there are adequate facilities before the start of the season. The relocation will also generate economic opportunities for local businesses through matchday traffic.
