Cristiano Ronaldo, the football legend, continues to demonstrate his passion and hunger for success despite the years and accumulated achievements. The Portuguese star, currently with Al Nassr, feels strong enough to continue competing at the highest level.
Ronaldo: “I still have a lot to give”
The forward, recognized as the all-time top scorer at the national team level with 141 goals in 223 matches for Portugal, is not satisfied with what he has achieved. Despite suggestions from his family that it’s time to rest, Ronaldo feels motivated and eager to continue making his mark on the king of sports.
People, especially my family, tell me: ‘It’s time to stop. You’ve done it all. Why do you want to score a thousand goals?’ But I don’t think so. I think I’m still producing good things, I’m helping my club and the national team, and why not continue?

In addition, he recently equaled the record for top scorer in the history of the World Cup qualifying phase, reaching 39 goals. The footballer, winner of five Ballon d’Or awards, added another prize to his extensive collection by receiving the Prestige award at the Portugal Football Globes.
“It’s not an award at the end of my career,” Ronaldo stated. “I see it as recognition for years of effort, dedication, and ambition. I like to win, help the younger generations, and they also help me maintain my level and keep competing. That’s what excites me: competing with the younger ones. I still feel passion for this.”
Ronaldo has not given any indication as to when he will retire from football.
Currently, Ronaldo has a contract with Al Nassr until June 2027. In addition, he led Portugal to victory in the UEFA Nations League.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player has scored more than 940 goals throughout his career.
The 2026 World Cup could be Ronaldo’s last chance to conquer the only major trophy he’s missing, but he’s currently focused on the present.
Ronaldo and Portugal will face the Republic of Ireland in World Cup qualifying on Saturday, before taking on Hungary on October 14. “I am sure that the next matches will go well and that we will qualify for the World Cup,” Ronaldo declared. “Obviously, our goal is to go to the World Cup and win, but we have to go step by step.”
