The North Carolina Courage team has dismissed its head coach, Sean Nahas, as announced by the club on Wednesday.
Nahas was in charge of the team for almost four years. The club’s statement was limited to two sentences, noting the “termination” of Nahas’ contract.
The statement continued:
“The North Carolina Courage remains focused on the continuous development of the team and on maintaining a professional and competitive environment for the players, staff, and fans.”

Nahas became the full-time head coach of the Courage before the 2022 NWSL season and led the team to two NWSL Challenge Cup titles and playoff appearances in each of the last two years.
Currently, the Courage has a record of 5-4-5 (W-D-L) with 19 points and is in ninth place in the table, below the playoff line.
Nahas has deep and lasting ties to the Raleigh, North Carolina area, and was also actively involved in the Courage academy.
His brother, Damon Nahas, is the head coach of the University of North Carolina women’s soccer team, which won an NCAA Division I title last year in Damon’s first year in charge.
